Happy 25th anniversary Cedars Social Club!
Welcome to Cedars Social Club (CSC)
The CSC, a non-profit organization, was established in January 1989 and incorporated in 1991. The clubs chief aim is to reach out to all members of the Canadian-Lebanese community, and it is dedicated to preserving the Lebanese culture through social and educational events.
We reached our twenty year mark and are very proud of our accomplishments. We have fostered hundreds of lasting friendships in the community, have supported other clubs and associations and have actively pursued opportunities to strengthen social interaction between the dispersed Lebanese community in Toronto and the surrounding area.
Among some of our events that are put on throughout the year, we take pride in our charity work both locally and internationally, reaching out to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, the Heart and Stroke Foundation as well as childrens organizations in Lebanon and around the world. As a social club, we have annual events such as our summer picnic, our celebration of Lebanons Independence, Mothers/Fathers day gatherings and our youth initiatives that keep our young adults involved.
CSC was a multiple awards winner at Carassauga, Mississaugas Festival of Cultures in 2004, 2005 and 2006. A group of our young members formed a folk dance group and called themselves the Young Cedars; they represented the club on numerous occasions and performed admirably at our functions as well as other community events.
The CSC has no political or religious affiliation. The executives, committees and organizers are all volunteer members of the club and donate their time and effort to serve the community.
Anyone with an interest in Lebanese culture and heritage is welcome to join our team and become a member of our big family.
